Tokyo (Friday, April 26, 2024) --- SBI Shinsei Bank, Limited. (hereinafter, “SBI Shinsei Bank” or “we”), and its group company, Showa Leasing Co., Ltd. (hereinafter, “Showa Leasing”), have entered into a business partnership agreement with Asuene Inc. (hereinafter, “Asuene”), and have started providing the “ESG current-level evaluation LIGHT,” a new service which assesses the customers’ present status of sustainability integration and ESG-related initiatives.

 

 

In recent years, investment and business activities that take into account the impact on the environment and society, such as climate change, human rights issues, and working conditions, have become increasingly important. At SBI Shinsei Bank, we are providing advisory services and various solutions for the promotion of sustainability integration and ESG risk management to our corporate customers and regional financial institutions, leveraging the knowledge and know-how we have cultivated through the provision of sustainable finance and impact finance.

 

Summary of Business Partnership

  • Asuene, through its cloud service “ASUENE ESG,” which visualizes the status of a company’s ESG initiatives, supports the visualization of a company’s sustainability integration and ESG response status and the identification of high-priority issues and risks.
  • SBI Shinsei Bank and Showa Leasing provide a quick ESG evaluation service by introducing ‘ASUENE ESG’ to unlisted/small and medium-sized enterprises in particular. In addition, based on the evaluation results, we provide continuous support for improving the issues of sustainability integration and ESG initiatives expected by corporate customers’ stakeholders.

 

The SBI Shinsei Bank Group provides support, through financial functions, to corporate and individual customers that are working on solving environmental and social issues. In the medium-term management plan “Medium-Term Vision of the SBI Shinsei Bank Group,” we have set forth the initiatives to offer financial functions toward the resolution of environment and social challenges. The partnership with Asuene is one of the specific initiatives. We will further continue to aim for the creation of a better future with our customers through proactive efforts to address our customers’ sustainability issues.
